Topographic survey
Éveha International provided the École Française de Rome’s research programme “Organisation, administration and transformations in an urban context: the area around the Herculaneum Gate of Pompeii, between funerary and commercial space” with an archaeological surveyor for its fourth field season.
The work was carried out by Français Fouriaux. In particular, this involved contributing to the general plan of the area under study. In addition, several shops were excavated and studied during this season, and these were also surveyed (in plan and section). All of these documents were georeferenced.
In order to achieve this, the research programme provided F. Fouriaux with a Leica Total Station and a computer with AutoCAD and COVADIS. A series of COVADIS geobases, incorporating both the points measuredand those calculated, was submitted at the end of this season.
