The sixth season of planned excavations at the Vale de Mir \u2013 Pegarinhos site (Portugal) took place this past July, from the 8th to the 19th. The objective was to supplement data regarding the layout of an ancient rural settlement established on the edges of a granite plateau located a few kilometers north of the Douro. The site’s primary occupation consists of several economic areas related to cereal farming, livestock breeding, textile production, and viticulture. The specific nature of each activity was further clarified by extending the excavation area. Consequently, a multifunctional space equipped with a central hearth, a poorly preserved dolia cellar (chai<\/em>), and what is likely a sheepfold\/stable complex were uncovered. These structures, dating to the Early Empire, are almost certainly part of a villa-type rural estate, with the residential quarters located on the site’s periphery. Finally, while data on the Late Antique occupation was also supplemented, remains of an Early Middle Ages settlement were identified on the site for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
