\u00c9veha International took part in the fifth and final season of the \u00c9cole Fran\u00e7aise de Rome\u2019s research programme \u201cOrganisation, administration and transformations in an urban context: the area around the Herculaneum Gate of Pompeii, between funerary and commercial space\u201d. This project is directed by Sandra Zanella (University of Paris I\/Coll\u00e8ge de France), La\u00ebtitia Cavassa (UMR 7299 Centre Camille Jullian, CNRS, University of Aix Marseille), Nicolas Laubry (University of Paris Est-Cr\u00e9teil) and Nicolas Monteix (University of Rouen).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A topographic survey was carried in order to gain a better understanding of the development of the area around the Porta Ercolano<\/em>, just outside the settlement walls \u2013 a zone that combines a funerary space with a space dedicated to trade, craft production and domestic activities. This survey was supplemented by detailed drawn survey of specific study areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9veha International\u2019s participation involved F. Fouriaux being made available for 9 days, from 27 June to 7 July 2016, to carry out the topographic survey and the georeferencing necessary at the end of the season. A series of benchmarks used for the survey were already in place. In collaboration with the members of the research team, additional surveys were conducted for use in summary reports (elevations and sections) and for the georeferencing of the photogrammetric models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to achieve this, the research programme provided F. Fouriaux with a Leica Total Station and a computer with AutoCAD and COVADIS. A series of COVADIS geobases, incorporating both the points measuredand those calculated, was submitted at the end of this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
